# Connect Brain to Claude

Give Claude access to your tasks, notes, and project context. Sign in to the same Brain account you use with your other agents so every conversation can start from your current plan.

## Before you connect

Create a Brain account and sign in. In your assistant, you will add a custom connection using the URL below. This uses [MCP](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/docs/getting-started/intro), the standard that lets an assistant work with tools such as Brain.

Brain connection URL: https://api.prod.brain.glasswaves.ai/mcp

Previously used Todo? Sign in to Brain with your existing email and password. Your saved work is unchanged. Replace your old Todo assistant connection with a Brain connection using the new URL above.

Use the same Brain account when connecting each assistant. You can then move between ChatGPT and Claude while keeping your tasks, notes, and project context in one place.

## Connect in Claude

1. Open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Name it Brain. For a managed workspace, an organization owner may need to add the connector first.
2. Enter https://api.prod.brain.glasswaves.ai/mcp. Choose sign-in authentication and, when asked, Claude’s published identity for the OAuth client.
3. Sign in to the same Brain account you use in the app and authorize the connection.
4. Enable Brain in the conversation’s connector menu, then try the first prompt below.

Review the requested workspace permissions on Brain’s consent screen and the explanation that the connection stays active until you disconnect it. Brain includes continued access for refresh-capable clients automatically; no offline_access scope setting is required. Claude manages the renewal credentials.

If these controls are missing, check [Claude’s setup guide](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp) or ask your workspace administrator to enable the connector.

## Choose how the agent can help

Read access lets an agent prepare briefings, review projects, and suggest next actions. Write access also lets it create tasks, save notes, and update your plan. The permission names are todo.read and todo.write.

Once connected, your assistant stays connected. Brain renews access through the assistant automatically, with no calendar or inactivity expiry. The consent screen explains that the connection stays active until you disconnect it. You can remove access in Profile → Connected assistants or in your assistant’s settings. A security event can also revoke access.

For a planning session, you can ask the agent to propose changes first. For routine capture, tell it what to save. Your assistant may also ask you to confirm an action.

## Read your existing work

### Try asking your agent

> Use Brain to read my Inbox. Summarize what needs attention and show the tasks you used. Leave everything unchanged.

Compare the answer with Inbox in the Brain app. If Inbox is empty, choose a project you already have. The aim is to check that your agent is reading your saved work.

## Save a first task

### Try asking your agent

> Create a task in my Brain Inbox titled “Try Brain with my agent.” Leave the dates blank and show me the saved task.

Open Brain to check the task. Keep it open if you want to find it from another agent; otherwise mark it complete when you are done.

## Connect your next agent to the same context

To connect another assistant, use the [ChatGPT setup](/support/chatgpt/) or [Claude setup](/support/claude/), signing in to the same Brain account. Ask it to find the task you just created, or to read a project you worked on with the first agent.

Save decisions and next actions in Brain at the end of each session. Ask the next agent to read the current project notes and tasks before continuing. This is how you carry context between assistants and conversations.

### Try asking your agent

> Use Brain to find the task “Try Brain with my agent” that I created from my other assistant. Show me the saved task.

## If the connection needs attention

- Use the connection URL above, including /mcp at the end.
- If the assistant repeatedly asks you to sign in, check that you are using the intended account and existing Brain entry. Brain does not expire a new connection because time passed or you stopped using it. Removal, account security changes, or a problem in the assistant can require sign-in. Reconnect the existing entry rather than adding a duplicate.
- If it can read but cannot save changes, check that it has write access.
- After an error during a save, ask the agent to check whether the change was saved before trying again.
- To remove access, disconnect Brain in the assistant’s settings or open Brain → Profile → Connected assistants.

Once connected, try a [weekly GTD review](/guides/getting-things-done/#reflect), a [project briefing from the graph](/guides/agents-and-graph/#unlocks), or a [client follow-up](/guides/lightweight-crm/#after-call).
